Setting up of charts of Accounts

Companies

Consider a Parent company (Dominica) and two children ( Cosmetic sale and Insurance business).

With sub companies under Cosmetic sale as Trozan.

On one hand, the two child companies will be used to support the flow of goods. On the other hand, the Parent company will be used to aggregate the different information from Cosmetic sale and Insurance business.

Enable Multi company and Technical features under Users -> Usability section.

Enabling Companies Structure

To view the companies structure, we need to give access rights to user. Select Multi Companies option in user access rights.

OpenERP Version 8 supports multi-company environment. We have created these companies to explain the feature. Go to Settings -> Companies -> Company structure.

Refer the image below. Here are the different configurations for the Parent and the child companies (for the child companies, do not forget to add a parent company) :

Setting up of charts of Accounts

For each company, we have to define an accounting setting. To do this, go to the Settings ‣ Configuration ‣ Accounting. Then we can select company in chart of account also select the option This company has its own chart of accounts, in the template we can select chart of account as we want, if it is not available in list , we can select option Install more chart template. After installing required chart of account , we can apply this configuration.

Each of your companies can have its own specific chart of accounts.

OR they can use their parent company Chart of Accounts.Company wise fiscal year set up for Multi company transactions.
