With store and service center locations throughout North America and Europe, the client is a source for quality parts and service for over 4,600 parts stores and 2,500 certified service centers. The client prides itself on responding to the individual automotive needs of each customer and providing proven, quality service.
Requirements
- A Liferay portal has a layout that is customizable & allows the portal’s general appearance-color scheme to be changed by the customer using pre-defined templates.
- Liferay also allows level of scalability that a growing worldwide alliance of this size anticipates it would require.
- We chose to develop the portal using the world-famous, open-source product, Liferay, because of its compatibility with most major application servers & database platforms.
- Required installation of Alfresco & Liferay on a singleapplication server.

- Support for all major databases (and their specific data formats), assuring a seamless experience for all dealers, stores and service centers.
- KTree chose the Apache Tomcat application server to install Alfresco and Liferay in the same application server. For content management, we chose to integrate the Alfesco repository with Liferay, as Alfresco provides good document management functionality.
- An extensible portal that can grow with the Alliance, with minimal programming effort.
- An consistent and easy-to-use interface for both brands and built-in features for user management, page-building and communities.
