The Challenge

The Client’s existing CRM system was not foolproof. Inefficiencies in sales, marketing and customer service were identified and there was a need for a centralized CRM solution. Sales management was unable to track and convert sales leads into opportunities. There was also a growing need to allow SugarCRM users to manage osCommerce customers, orders and products through the sugar interface while osCommerce customers can update their information through the osCommerce interface.

The Client selected KTree because of its rich experience in Open source applications and ability to provide the right mix of expertise and leadership in Development of SugarCRM.
KTree provided the company with a centralized SugarCRM solution, to cater to the specific needs of the company.

The KTree team worked on the following Development areas:
  • Installed and customized the SugarCRM modules such as Lead and Account modules
  • Data migration from the existing CRM to SugarCRM (contacts, accounts, history, and leads)
  • Integrated SugarCRM with osCommerce for the Online Shop. So, the information was saved in the contact and account when a customer singed up and recorded as an opportunity in SugarCRM when an order was placed in osCommerce. Also, the SugarCRM module classified between a company signup and an individual customer signup and recorded them accordingly.
  • Customized role management module with predefined restrictions for different users and implemented tab-level security and role-based access control lists.
  • Developed a module called Autoresponder in SugarCRM which would keep a track of the prospective Lead by sending campaign emails. We developed specific email templates for leads and users according to the landing page for registration.
