Installation of osCommerce comprises of the following steps:

•    Set up a database for osCommerce to use
•    Upload the osCommerce software to your account on the home directory of your site using an FTP program
•    Set permissions so that the osCommerce install script can access the configuration files
•    Run the configuration script to configure your online store settings
•    Remove the installation files
